CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts defeated the Pensacola Wahoos, 6-1, Saturday night at AT&T Field in front of a crowd of 2,517.
Chattanooga’s pitcher, Nick Lodolo led the Lookouts, throwing 3.1 innings striking out seven and lowering his ERA to 0 .90.
Matt Pidich (1-3) relieved Lodolo and earned the win. Pidich threw 1.2 innings allowing only two hits and striking out four.
Chattanooga jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first off a fielder’s choice and Lorenzo Cedrola’s RBI single. The home team added another run in the second and in the fifth.
In the seventh, Mark Kolozvary doubled on a fly ball, scoring Jose Barrero. Kolozsvary then scored off of Brian Rey’s RBI single to jump to a 6-0 lead.
The Blue Wahoos scored one run in the ninth to bring the final score to 6-1, giving Chattanooga a 3-2 lead in the series.
The Lookouts and Blue Wahoos return to the diamond Sunday at 2:15 p.m. to close out the six-game series. Gates open at 1 p.m.
